** Entire garment is worked in BLO (Back loops only)...

Row 1.. Ch 48, sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in each st across, turn.

Row 2.. Ch 3, 3 dc in next st, dc in next st, skip next st (dc in next st, 3 dc in next st, dc in next st, skip next st,) across, turn.(60)

NOTE
Outer point is the center stitch of the 3 dc or 5 dc group. Inner point is formed by skipped stitches.

Row 3.. Skip first st, sl st in next st, ch 3 , dc in next st across with 5 dc in in each outer point and skip 2 sts at each inner point , leaving the last st unworked(the chain) turn (84)

Row 4..Skip first st, sl st in next st, ch 3, dc in each st across with 3 dc in outer point and skip 2 sts at each inner point leaving last st unworked, turn.

Row 5 .. Repeat row 3, join with sl st to beginning chain 3 , turn. ( All rows will be joined now throughout the pattern)

Row 6.. slip st in next 2 stitches, chain 3, and repeat row 4.

Row 7-14..Repeat, rows 3 and 4 .

Row 15.. For trim,* chain 4, skip 1, slip stitch in next stitch, repeat around entire garment.

HOOD
Rnd 1...Working on the opposite side of starting ch, join with sl st in the first ch at right side of neck edge, ch 4, skip next ch dc in next ch, (ch 1, sk 1 dc in next) across, ( this creates the opening for ties), chain 3, turn.

Row 2...Dc in ch 1 sp, dc in next dc, continue across row, ch 3 turn.

Row 3-12 ...Dc in each dc across, ch 3, turn. At end of row 12 fasten off. Fold hood at center back right sides together, Sew stitches of row 12 together.

Trim as bottom of poncho , or trim as desired.

For tie, chain 125, or ribbon can be used.
