Materials needed:
   Caron Simply Soft yarn
   G Hook

NOTE: V-st = 2 dc in one stitch
   Turning chain may be ch 2 or ch 3
   Work in all loose ends

Beginning at neck line, ch 54.

Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across. Ch 2, turn. (53 sc)

Row 2: Skip first sc, 2 dc in next st, * sk 1 st, 2 dc in next st; repeat from * across, ending with 1 dc in last st, ch 2 turn. (26 v-st’s)

Row 3: * Dc, ch 1, dc between 2 dc of previous row, repeat from * across, ending with dc in ch 2 space at end of row. Ch 2 turn. (26 v-st’s with ch 1)

Row 4: *4 dc in next ch 1 space, repeat from * across, ending with dc in ch 2 space at end of row. Ch 2, turn. (26 groups of 4 dc’s)

Row 5: *2 dc between first and second dc of previous row of 4 dc, 2 dc between third and fourth dc of same group, repeat from * across, ending with dc in ch 2 sp at end of row. Ch 2 turn. (52 v-sts)

Row 6: *2 dc between 2 dc of previous row, repeat from * across. Ch 2, turn. (52 v-sts)

Row 7: (arm section) Work v-st in next 8 sts, ch 3, skip next 10 v-sts, work v-st into next 16 sts, ch 3, skip next 10 v-sts, work v-st into last 8 sts. Ch 2, turn. (32 v-sts)

Row 8: V-st in next 8 sts, place v –st into 2nd ch of ch 3 (center chain of ch 3), v-st in next 16 sts, place v-st into 2nd ch of ch 3 (center chain of ch 3), v-st in next 8 sts. Ch 2, turn. (34 v-sts) Rows 9 – 17: Work v-st each st across, ch 2 turn. (34 v-sts) At end of Row 17, ch 1, turn.

EDGING: Sc in each stitch across bottom, turn and place 2 sc in each end of row up side front of sweater, turn, place one sc in each st across neckline, turn and place 2 sc in each end of row down side front of sweater, join to beginning sc, ch 1 turn. Sc in each sc around entire sweater, join to beginning sc, end off.

SLEEVE:

Rnd 1: Attach yarn with a sl st to back st of ch 2 of arm section, ch 3, place dc in same st, place v-st into side of dc of row 7, place v-st in side of dc of row 6, place v-st into each of skipped 10 sts of arm section, place v-st into side of dc of row 7, place v-st into space of row 8, join with sl st into ch 3. (15 v-sts)

Rnd 2-8: Ch 3, dc into same v-st space, v-st into each v-st around, join with a sl st into ch 3. (15 v-sts)

Rnd 9: Ch 1, *sc in next 3 sts, sc dec in next 2 sts, repeat from * around, sc in last sts. Join with a sl st to first st.

Rnd 10: Sc in each st around. Join with a sl st to first st, end off.

Work other sleeve same as above.

Neck Tie: Ch 135, end off. Weave chain through Row 2 of sweater.
